Numerous German politicians and other celebrities have fallen victim to extensive data theft. Personal data has been published on the internet. Now a whole series of authorities is trying to get to the bottom of the matter. But in the search for the culprit they still grope in the dark.
On Saturday it was announced that the German Federal Office for Security in Information Technology (BSI) had already been aware of the data theft for weeks. But even the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) learned according to its own account of the publication until the night on Friday. This emerges from a BKA letter to all members of the Bundestag – some of which reacted with annoyance.
