French President Emmanuel Macron today introduces the country’s future nuclear weapons doctrine. In a speech in Paris, he also wants to comment on proposals that he intends to make to the European partners „in the coming months“, as he announced at the beginning of the week.

France has been the only nuclear power in the European Union since Brexit. The country has around 300 nuclear warheads, ranking third worldwide behind Russia and the United States.
