A few days after the attacks on oil installations in Saudi Arabia, the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched attacks on the Houthi rebels in Yemen. In the attacks north of the Yemeni port of Hudaida yesterday, four facilities for the construction of maritime mines and remote-controlled boats were destroyed, it said in a spread by the news agency SPA statement of the military coalition. These would have threatened the safety of shipping.

Previously, the military coalition had allegedly thwarted a planned attack by the Yemeni Houthi rebels on a remote-controlled explosives boat. The boat was discovered and destroyed in the south of the Red Sea, SPA reported, citing the military coalition. It was controlled from the Hudaida region. The target of the planned attack was unknown.

Attack on oil fields

The Houthi rebels, who are being supported by Iran in the Yemen civil war, had become aware of the attacks on Saudi Arabian state-owned Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Abkaik and Churais over the weekend. The US government, on the other hand, blames Iran. Saudi Arabia also sees Iran undoubtedly behind the attacks. The leadership in Tehran denies any involvement.
