Unknown hackers or hackers have cracked the Twitter account of the London police. In many fake tweets they demanded the release of the rapper Digga D last night, as the British news agency PA reported today.

Scotland Yard said the hack had not affected its IT infrastructure itself, but only the MyNewsDesk account used to distribute communications. The causes would still be determined. „We apologize to our subscribers and followers for the messages they have received,“ it said.

Drill rapper Digga D, aka Rhys Herbert, was arrested at the age of 17, along with four other members of the 1011 gang, when they were on the way to attack rivals with baseball bats and machetes, PA reported.

Drilling rap, in which masked and hooded men often talk about weapons, drugs and stabbings, is linked to a rise in violent crime in the British capital.
