US President Donald Trump has offered North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un a letter to improve relations, Pyongyang said. In the letter, Trump outlined “his plan” to “advance relations between the two countries,” North Korea’s official news agency KCNA said yesterday, citing Kim’s sister Kim Yo Jong.
The US president has offered „collaboration in the anti-epidemic efforts,“ it said, apparently with a view to the coronavirus pandemic. North Korea has so far not reported a single case of infection. In all likelihood, the pandemic has already reached the internationally isolated country.
The nuclear talks between Pyongyang and Washington have been put on hold since a failed summit between Kim and Trump in February last year. Yesterday, North Korea once again tested two short-range missiles in violation of UN resolutions, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap, citing the South Korean army.
