Two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip have hit the Greater Tel Aviv area

Militant Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have reportedly fired at least two missiles in the Greater Tel Aviv area, according to media reports. In the city and the suburbs were heard sirens and explosions.

The Israel army said the missile defense system had not intercepted any of the missiles, but there had been no injuries or property damage. Also, there are no special instructions for civilians. Most recently, in the Gaza war in the summer of 2014, there were similar attacks on Tel Aviv.

In Gaza, no group took responsibility for the incident. The Gaza Strip is controlled by the radical Islamic Hamas, but there are other groups can fall back on a rocket arsenal. Since the beginning of the month Palestinians have fired rockets on the Israeli border area on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip several times.

Israel’s air force then bombarded targets in the coastal strip on the Mediterranean. A cease-fire negotiated by Egypt at the end of last year between Israel and Gaza-ruling Hamas has become increasingly fragile.

Hamas is classified by Israel, the US and the European Union as a terrorist organization. In Gaza, around two million people live in difficult conditions. There is a lack of drinking water and electricity, among other things.
