Turkey has bought the Russian air defense missile system type S-400 and thus accepts the annoyance of its NATO partner USA. The missiles will be delivered in July, announced the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday.
The US had stopped the training of Turkish pilots on the US fighter jet F-35 because of the armaments business. Earlier, the supply of equipment for the F-35 was suspended. Speaking at his AK party event, Erdogan said he would hold anyone responsible for excluding Turkey from the F-35 program. The government in Washington argues that Turkey can not simultaneously operate the S-400 systems from Russia and F-35 fighters of the US arms company Lockheed Martin.
